VISION LOADING… OUR FIRST APARTMENT RENO STARTS HERE
We’ve renovated family homes, beach houses and everything in between… but this one marks a very exciting first for us — our very first apartment renovation. We’ve named her The Petite Pad because she’s exactly that. She’s exactly that. Small rooms, tiny shower, compact footprint… but what she lacks in size, she more than makes up for in potential.
This tired old apartment had the sweetest bones from the very beginning — tall ceilings, original timber windows and doors, ornate balconies and so much old-world charm. Even though she’s in desperate need of some love, we instantly fell for her character and knew we wanted to work with it, not against it.
OUR VISION FOR THE PETITE PAD
And of course, like every Three Birds project, we wouldn’t dream of starting without a vision board. It’s always our very first step and helps bring the feeling, personality and direction of the home to life before the renovation even begins. (You can read more about how we create our vision boards here.)
For this renovation, we’re really going to honour the apartment’s existing character while adding even more warmth and personality through earthy tones, vintage details and beautiful textures to create a luxe little city sanctuary. The vision is to make this tiny apartment feel intimate, inviting and full of soul.
Then there are the quirks… like the teeny tiny oddly shaped shower and the walk-through kitchen. But honestly, we think that’s all part of her charm. We’re excited to prove that you don’t always need to move walls or completely reinvent a space to create a beautiful transformation. With thoughtful planning and a few clever layout tweaks, this little apartment is about to feel a whole lot bigger, warmer and more functional than before.
