If you watched our House 18 reveals, you’ll know exactly what we mean. We spent a LOT of time getting the paint colours just right, inside and out.
Take the exterior. The right paint colour can seriously dial up the street appeal of a home, so we weren’t about to choose ours from a tiny swatch and say, “Yep, she’ll be right.”
Oh no.
We painted multiple BIG test patches on the exterior so we could see each colour properly, in real life and at different times of the day. Eventually, we found the one. Dulux Puppy. Warm, soft and just right for the look we wanted to create.
Then there was the green in one of the boys’ bedrooms. Another seemingly simple decision that involved finding juuuust the right shade. Not too bright. Not too grey. Not too baby-ish. A green he could grow with and we’d still love looking at every day.
That’s the thing with paint. It might be one of the easiest ways to transform a space, but choosing the colour can be surprisingly tricky. Especially when you’re staring at a wall of swatches wondering how 47 colours that looked identical five minutes ago suddenly look completely different. 😵💫
