The difference between designing a bathroom that feels truly, unmistakably yours and one that blends into the background can be surprisingly simple. Customising just a few key pieces is often all it takes to add personality and set the tone for the entire space.

When we designed the bathrooms for our latest renovation, Eclectic Escape, our vision was crystal clear: playful, colourful, but practical enough for real life. Despite the quick turnaround on this project (#12WeekReno), we weren’t tempted to play it safe. It was about creating spaces that felt considered and full of personality, bringing the vision to life right down to the smallest quirky details.

The key? Personalising and customising the Mizu tapware and Posh vanities from Reece.

Having used Reece’s Mizu tapware and Posh Domaine vanity ranges in previous projects, we knew we could customise tapware colours and sizes, along with vanity finishes and benchtops, across the bathroom, ensuite and powder room (and even the kitchen and laundry) to suit the size and layout of each space and the style of the home.

For this project, we went all in with the Mizu Drift range, choosing Brushed Bronze as our hero finish. Warm, timeless and full of personality, it was the perfect match for the home’s eclectic vibe.

One of the best things about Mizu’s range is how easily everything comes together. We were able to customise and match the tapware across basins and bath, twin rail showers and mixers, right through to the accessories - robe hooks, toilet roll holders and even soap bottle holders.

The end result is a cohesive look that feels calm and considered.

If tapware creates cohesion, the vanity is where personalisation really shines. For the Eclectic Escape, we wanted vanities that felt elevated but still functional - and that meant being able to customise beyond standard sizes and finishes.

We used Posh Domaine Plus vanities, which gave us the flexibility to tailor each vanity to the space. In the bathrooms, this included the Posh Domaine Plus 750mm wall-hung twin vanity, finished in Amaro Silk with a Sakal benchtop.
