THIS LITTLE COTTAGE HAS HAD QUITE THE GLOW-UP!
There's something deeply satisfying about a good before and after. Especially when the transformation is BIG, but the charm that made you fall in love with the original is still very much there.
Take our sweet little cottage in Sydney’s South. She had good bones and plenty of potential, but with her all-white exterior, uninspired garden and no front fence or gate, she wasn't exactly turning heads.
What she needed was a little TLC, a few clever updates and a whole lot of love.
The brief? Give this charming cottage a fresh new look and some serious street appeal, without stripping away the character that made her special in the first place.
So we got to work with beautiful new cladding and trim from James Hardie, gorgeous exterior finishes from Amber, a soft green colour palette, a refreshed roof, a new front door and some lovely curved landscaping. We even kept the existing windows. Because a clever reno is just as much about knowing what to keep as what to change.
And the result? Well, she's gone from a little plain Jane to positively come hither. Warm, welcoming and full of personality, with the kind of street appeal that makes you want to swing open the front gate, wander up the recycled brick pathway and settle in for an Aperol Spritz on the porch.
Same gorgeous cottage. Just looking like she's had a VERY good holiday.

Just when you thought we'd left you hanging... we're back!!! Our BIG REVEAL of House 13 STARTS NOW and she's our biggest project yet!
We're kicking off Episode One with the Pool and Pool house. We created this to be the ultimate entertaining space that doubles as a guest house when the party kicks on and the friends and fam stay over.
Did you see the gorgeous Linea Weatherboard on the Pool House exterior… “another weatherboard build, we heard you say.” So, prepare to be surprised when you see the exterior finish for the main house because there’s no weatherboard in sight - it’s board and batten, baby!
This iconic duo gets its name from the wide panels (boards) with narrow, vertical strips (battens) placed over the joints of the panels to create a geometric, layered effect.
You’ve only got one chance to make a first impression so, when it comes to your home, the front facade and entrance are the place where the wow factor needs to start.
In the case of House 12, located on a busy main road with hectic traffic and tricky parking for Sarah and Cath’s guests, we wanted to make sure that once they approach the front gate it feels like they’re walking into a big warm, comforting hug, leaving the hustle and bustle at the roadside.
A spray tan makes everything look better! Am I right, gang? Well, the same goes for a tired house façade, there’s nothing like a spray of paint to make an old girl glow again.
A gorgeous garden can totally be the cherry on the top of your dream home renovation. Done well, landscaping has the ability to transform the street appeal of your house and make it feel like a home you’ll never want to leave. BUT, did you know that the biggest mistake we see when it comes to home renos lies in the garden.
I have a confession to make, I have a crush on Bonnie’s roof. Don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy with my own roof and we have a strong relationship, but there’s no denying Bon’s new roof has caught my eye and knocked my socks off!
