BLINDS ARE NOT BORING!

I have a question for you โ€ฆโ€ฆ do blinds and window coverings excite you? Have you ever seen a blind and gone โ€œWOW โ€“ thatโ€™s frigginโ€™ amazing!โ€? No? Well that was us 6 months ago.

Bon, myself and Erin shared the view that window coverings were pretty boring stuff and aside from white shutters, there was basically โ€œnothing to see hereโ€. Well how wrong were we!?

EXCLUSIVE OPEN HOME

WOW what a day! Bon, Erin and myself are still floating down off cloud nine after getting the opportunity to share our house with everyone who attended our Exclusive Open Home today. It was very special for us, thanks to every one of our loyal supporters that attended and everyone that supported us from afar, your support of us as renovators, business women, busy mums and best friends seriously makes us beyond grateful.

LETโ€™S GO PAINT! | HOUSE 5

Have I told you that weโ€™re using more colour than ever in this house!?  I think they must have changed the coffee granules at The Tuckshop cos Bonnie has gone a bit colour crazy. Donโ€™t worry, weโ€™re not talking bright fuschia or chartreuse, youโ€™ll see Bonโ€™s choices are still very liveable and will work beautifully with our predominantly white walls #snowdrop.

HOW BONNIEโ€™S BEACH SHACK RENO TESTED THE FRIENDSHIP

Have I ever told you how Bonnie and Erin holiday together and never invite me? They even have the audacity to talk about it right in front of me and then look dumb-founded when I say, โ€œyou know Iโ€™m sitting right here? I can hear youโ€.

If itโ€™s not Byron Bay theyโ€™re off to, theyโ€™re convoying up the freeway to Bonโ€™s beach house at Pearl Beach.

I have never been invited to the beach house โ€“ in fact I eventually had to invite myself up there. But just as we were reversing out of our drive to head up to Pearl, car packed to the hilt, she calls with some lame excuse โ€“ something about her waters breaking and going into labour. I mean really!? The nerve of that girl.

WEEK FIVE | HOUSE 4

Can you believe we are in the FINAL WEEK of this reno!? I canโ€™t. In fact if you asked me if it were possible, Iโ€™d say โ€œno way, Rosรฉโ€. But Erin assures me we are on track to finish by Friday. So with the pressure on I was quite reluctant to take a day out to write this blog (yes it takes me that long). Surely this is how the Masterchef contestants feel when thereโ€™s 3 mins left on the clock, theyโ€™ve just burnt their sauce (and fingers) and suddenly Matt Preston appears for a quick interview. Argh!! So forgive me this week, there are more pictures than words and letโ€™s all cross our fingers that we donโ€™t end up with burnt ones on Friday.

WEEK FOUR | HOUSE 4

Weโ€™re past the half-way mark for this reno and as with all big sporting events (I acknowledge this isnโ€™t one of them, but perhaps it should be, is it too late for Rio?) we will be crossing down to the sidelines for a half-time report of the teamโ€™s performance. Iโ€™ll take a look at whoโ€™s been playing out of their skin and who needs to step things up in the second half.

WEEK TWO | HOUSE 4

This week kicked off with a bang! We chose our exterior paint colour (yay). And when I say โ€˜we choseโ€™, you know I actually mean โ€˜Bonnie choseโ€™ and funnily enough it was the first colour Bon picked out of the 5000 choices from the Taubmans Colour Chart. So what colour did she choose?

WEEK ONE | HOUSE 4

I remember. It was 12yrs ago and myself, Bonnie and Erin were at a nightclub (god knows where) and we were badgering the DJ (poor guy) to play โ€œLetโ€™s Get It Startedโ€ for us.  And like that night, on Monday morning of this week I made the same song request on my iPad. Why? Because after a loooong wait, we were finally starting our House 4 reno!!  Itโ€™s official - the party has started at House 4 and us Birds are now nesting in Northmead for the next 6 weeks.
