Choosing the colour scheme for your home’s exterior can be really quite daunting. Remember that your front façade is the first thing people see so it should set the vibe for the entire home. No pressure guys, but it could be the make or break of your whole vision! #somuchpressure!
New Year, new reno project on the cards? If that's a big, fat ‘NO’, because of the dreaded 'B' word… don’t despair, we get it! #budgetblues We’ve got some great tips and tricks for sprucing up your home’s exterior, on a budget.
Right from our early days of flipping houses, we’ve been big believers in the mantra that ‘street appeal is King’. A fancy facade goes a long way towards luring potential buyers into a flip house and is sure to put a smile on your dial at your own place too! #homesweethome So, don’t let go of your ultimate reno dream, but in the meantime, here are some budget friendly ways to satiate your reno appetite:
We had no idea that so many people could get so excited about a front fence! Fences are usually waaaay down the list of “things our gang gets psyched about”, but Soph’s fence certainly caused a stir. #fencefetish
To be quite honest, I thought Sophie had gone completely mad when she told us the location of the land she’d bought to build her dream home. Aaah, where? Doesn’t she know our ‘T minus 5 minutes’ drive’ rule to get coffee? Where’s the closest sushi joint?
Call it a stroke of genius or a moment of madness, Sophie decided to bring the Peppa Hart office under the roof of her Mediterranean Farmhouse to mix her busy business with raising her babes. Soph hated wasting time commuting to and from work, so this space is literally 10 steps from her master suite but all completely seperate…. Soph loves the idea of spending max time with her kids before she starts her work day and as soon as she clocks off in the evening she is straight into mum mode. The office is located upstairs away from the busy household downstairs, when kids and hubby are home the office can work in peace.

A gorgeous garden can totally be the cherry on the top of your dream home renovation. Done well, landscaping has the ability to transform the street appeal of your house and make it feel like a home you’ll never want to leave. BUT, did you know that the biggest mistake we see when it comes to home renos lies in the garden.
This little ugly duckling of a house needed a lot of help in the roof department! The original tiles left a lot to be desired but we didn’t have the budget to splash the cash on a whole new roof. We wanted the extension to complement rather than contrast the original roof, so needed to find the perfect crown to sit atop this little black beauty.
I think I've already told you that my forever home has been in the works for years... long before Three Birds was born. And like most people, I engaged an architect early on to draw up some plans.
But after Three Birds began and we'd renovated a few houses, my eyes were opened up to new design ideas and I felt like I knew exactly what our dream home needed to be... so I picked up a pencil and started to draw it.
It’s official! Our most asked question, like EVER, has got to be:
“Which white paint colour shall I choose?”
Great question! But, to be honest, there’s no set-in-stone answer. Call me horrifically biased, but Dulux White on White for interiors and Dulux Snowy Mountains Quarter for exteriors, like we used at my place, are two of my faves.

Hey Gang, if our Mediterranean Farm house has got your reno juices in a spin and you’re pumped to start your own project, you’re going to LOVE our Three Birds Reno School. And we’d LOVE to have you on board the Reno School bus for our next intake on 7th October.
Let me tell you why you’re going to LOVE it…
We put a shout out for questions about life in the dream house (Sophie’s, not Barbie’s!) and have been inundated with messages and questions. Soph’s not going to get through them all but we’ve read every single one of them and we really appreciate your lovely comments!
What does your choice of tiles say about you? Are you confident to push the boat out and make some big, bold choices? Or do you prefer to keep things safe and practical?
Me? I’m all over the shop! But the beauty of my job is that I get to choose so many different tiles for our renovations that I can change my tile style all the time… as long as it matches our vision board.
