ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD
It’s no secret that my favourite colour scheme is white on white and that's not just because it makes a space feel fresh and light but this neutral colour palette also means that when it comes to styling rooms, I’ve really got a blank canvas to work with.
For my dream master suite, I chose gold hardware and accessories, because who doesn’t love a bit of bling in the bedroom?! #exceptmyhubby. Gold (and marble) is totally timeless and adds a touch of luxe to this special adults-only retreat.
So where do i start...?
Those striking Gingko Leaf Wall lights either side of the bed are hard to miss. They’re actually brass not gold, but hey, let’s not discriminate. Their flowing form and shining solid brass finish really adds a touch of luxury. I know Nathan’s just going to love waking up next to those each morning #luckyhubby
Carrera by Design did the most amazing job of hand-crafting the moulded cabinetry in the walk-in-robe, so I really had to step up my hardware choice because these beautiful doors were worthy of the best #nopressure. The long, gold door handles from Gregory Croxford are simple in design with a gorgeous textured edge #prettynotprissy. They are solid and almost industrial looking and go perfectly with the smaller brass knurled ‘T Plate’ handles from Lo&Co - a match made in heaven.
Here’s a top tip when it comes to tapware: if the style you like doesn’t come in the colour of your choice, get it custom coloured! I wanted pops of gold throughout the suite and I needed the tapware all to be gold, to keep the consistency. The awesome peeps at Caroma organised for the freestanding bath tap, shower heads (all three of them), as well as all the ensuite taps, mixers, towel rails and toilet roll holders – to be custom plated in brass. I’m so thrilled with how they turned out. And get this, the new Caroma Invisi II toilet plate already comes in a gold option. I think they’re onto something! #goldisthenewblack - we show you the gold flush plate in the extended version of Episode 3 - scroll down to watch it now.
In the master suite I’ve created areas that Nathan and I can sit and relax or chat to each other while we get ready for a busy day (or just get ready for bed). In these areas I’ve got side tables to rest a book or a cup of coffee… or more likely my iPhone, while I get dressed between Insta posts! Each table is different but brings in the gold theme through its legs, or top.
White and gold are perfect partners for a luxe look and the finished result… pure gold.
