A CALM & CLASSIC BATHROOM DESIGNED FOR REAL FAMILY LIFE

The brief for this bathroom transformation was simple: beautiful enough to stop you in your tracks, hardworking enough to handle the chaos of family life. No compromises.

Just a space that looks beautiful, works brilliantly and keeps up with the demands of everyday family living — not just on reveal day, but on a random Tuesday morning when everyone’s running late, and the bathroom is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Here’s how we made it happen, and the Reece products that helped us create a bathroom that’s every bit as hardworking as it is good-looking.

Before

After

Fitting everything in (without it feeling like it)

This bathroom may not be huge, but gee, it works hard. As the main family bathroom, this space needed to do a lot — bath, shower, vanity, toilet, all in one room.

The secret to making it feel spacious rather than squeezed? A wall-hung vanity. The Kado Era Double Wall Hung Vanity from Reece lets your eye travel across the floor underneath, which instantly makes the room feel bigger and lighter. It's a small design decision with a surprisingly large impact.

Those soft curves aren't just gorgeous — they're setting the tone for the entire room.

We paired it with the Kado Lux Framed 2 Door Mirror Shaving Cabinet (same family, same finish) for storage that feels intentional rather than an afterthought. Hidden storage that looks this good? That's the dream.

THE DETAILS DOING THE HEAVY LIFTING

A calm palette of warm whites and soft blue tones sets the mood, but honestly, let’s talk about the star of the vanity.

The Robert Gordon 'Potters' Semi-Inset Basin is the result of a collaboration between Reece and iconic Australian pottery brand Robert Gordon, and holey moley — if you love pottery, you are going to LOVE this. That handcrafted ceramic finish brings a warmth and texture that no standard basin could ever pull off. It feels less like a fixture and more like a piece of art that just happens to live in your bathroom.

From there, the design story flows naturally. The curved niche frames around the bath and shower give the room its architectural moment — a focal point that anchors everything else. Once you have a signature shape, you can echo it: in the organic profile of the basin, in the soft lines of the vanity and in the knurled texture of the Milli Etch tapware.

We chose the Brushed Nickel finish because it works beautifully with the soft blue and white palette, adding warmth without competing for attention. And as an added bonus, it's wonderfully forgiving of fingerprints and water marks — always a win in a hardworking family bathroom.

Beautiful products that actually work hard

We went with the Milli Etch range throughout the bathroom, including the Milli Etch Wall Basin/Bath Tap Set at the bath, because we love the consistency it brings to the space. The knurled detailing adds just the right amount of texture, while the Brushed Nickel finish feels warm, timeless and perfectly at home alongside the soft blue and white palette.

In the shower, we chose the Milli Marq Edit Twin Rail Shower because it gives you the best of both worlds. The overhead rose is perfect for those long, relaxing showers, while the handheld makes everyday jobs like washing kids' hair, rinsing down the shower or dealing with a muddy dog that little bit easier. Paired with the Milli Etch Shower Mixer Kit, the whole shower zone feels cohesive and designed to work beautifully every day.

The Laufen Pro A Rimless Back to Wall Pan with Slim Soft Close seat is paired with the Hideaway+ Front Access Cistern and Hideaway+ Round Gloss White Button Plate. Concealed in the wall and completely out of sight, it helps the whole room feel cleaner, calmer and less cluttered. It's one of those details you don't necessarily notice straight away — but you'd definitely miss it if it wasn't there.

And the Posh Domaine Inset Bath, tucked into that curved niche? Pure magic. Just imagine it on a Sunday evening... bubbles piled high, candles flickering, a glass of wine within arm's reach and a good book you've been meaning to finish for months. Bliss.

The finishing touches — Milli Marq Edit Single Towel Rail, Robe Hook and Toilet Roll Holder, all in brushed nickel — are from the same family, and that's very much on purpose. Consistency across accessories is one of the easiest ways to make a bathroom feel pulled together rather than pieced together.

Even the Kado Lux HiFlow 250 Exhaust Fan in Square Matte White got the memo. Because in a bathroom this considered, even the practical bits need to look the part.

BUILT TO LAST (AND LOVE)

This bathroom wasn’t designed for reveal day. It was designed for every day — the rushed school mornings, the long bath nights and the random Tuesdays when it’s quietly doing its job and looking beautiful doing it.

Calm, classic and hardworking.

Because when it comes to family bathrooms, pretty and practical should always go hand in hand.
