HOW OUR WOODCUT FLOORS ARE FARING?

Remember that gorgeous Woodcut engineered timber flooring we used in Bonnie and Lana’s homes? We get lots of questions about how it’s worn with the daily thrashing by kids, animals… and crutches! So we asked the girls for an update on how their flooring has fared …

how long since your Woodcut floors were installed?

Lana: It was right at the end of my Forever Home reno, so it must have been March 2017. Nearly 2 years now.

Bonnie: it’s our one-year anniversary this month, actually. And it’s one worth celebrating! I still LOVE my Woodcut floorboards as much as the day they were installed.

Anything you would have changed?

Bonnie: It sounds a bit OTT, but I look at them every day and think how perfect they are! So much so, that I’ve sometimes wondered if I should have continued the floorboards through the entire house and just put big rugs down in the bedrooms.

I’m so glad I used the smaller chevron boards in the entrance way with the big, beautiful, wide boards through the rest of the house. The pattern really makes a feature of the foyer and defines the entry to our home.

Lana: I absolutely love my flooring too. I never doubted it for a second. It was one of the easiest decisions I made for my home. My #santoriniinsydney vision board was really minimalist, and while I LOVE herringbone and chevron laid boards, my vision board said NO, keep it simple.

I knew that Woodcut boards in ‘Pearl White’ were the perfect colour and quality product for my Forever Home. They’re definitely the real deal when it comes to engineered timber flooring.

How's the wear & tear? Lana, is your Woodcut flooring still pristine in your shoe-free home?

Don’t joke! As a self-confessed germaphobe, my Woodcut floors have hardly had a chance to get dirty. My husband was on crutches a few months back and I felt compelled to wipe the round undersides of each crutch with a baby wipe before he was allowed in the house. Having said that, the kids run in from the garden and pool in bare feet so the floors get a bit of a workout from that and they always look and feel so beautiful.

I’m really impressed that we don’t have any scuff marks though. We always eat at the kitchen island bench and the heavy stools get dragged in and out all the time but the flooring underneath them is fine. I feel comfortable moving furniture around on it too because it’s real timber so it’s really durable and can handle a lot.

BON, HAVE YOUR FLOORS SURVIVED THE TORTURE TEST OF 4 boys, 3 dogs, SCOOTERS AND BIKES IN THE HOUSE?

I can honestly say, my floor is doing fabulously! I’ve had maybe 3 or 4 little scratches which you can barely see but I touched them up with the white wash paint Woodcut gave me and they’re as good as new. I just vacuum and mop them as usual, they’re so easy to maintain.

would you recommend Woodcut to your best friend?

Lana: 100%. Woodcut is a fabulous choice because it’s such a high-quality product that looks and feels like REAL timber – because it is! I’d absolutely recommend Woodcut to anyone looking to invest in premium wooden flooring for their home.

Bonnie: The fantastic colour range is worth a mention too. We love Woodcut because of their big range of pale colours that we didn’t find with other brands. And of course, they look amazing - they’re just the most beautiful, big wide boards and feel like silk under bare feet. Definitely an investment piece for your dream home.
