A vision board is the place where your favourite inspo pics and words join forces to create a page so powerful that it becomes the bible for your renovation… or in the case of House 13, your new build.
Your board should be at the forefront of every design meeting, accompany you to choose your tiles, dictate your paint colours and make choosing fittings and fixtures a breeze. It may be small but it’s a mighty tool in bringing to life any renovation or building project.

the inspiration behind the board
Australia’s borders are currently closed and our ability to travel freely is probably still a few years away so, never before has the term #staycation been so relevant and the vision for our latest project was created with this in mind. We spent months collecting our favourite inspo shots from all around the globe. It was no mean feat narrowing it down to just 8 which capture the essence of what we want this new home to look like… and feel like.
House 13 is home to Bonnie's right-hand woman, Three Birds Designer, Louisa, and her family, including two young boys. The family had high aspirations for travelling the world, which isn’t currently on the cards, so their home is designed to be their dream holiday, brought to life at home. Every part of it is inspired by holiday destinations and design elements from around the world, all anchored by the stunning location, with views to the Australian bush from every room.
The vibe is relaxed enough for everyday family life, with luxe resort touches. It's coastal but surrounded by our largest piece of living artwork yet, the gums and eucalyptus of the Aussie bush. It’s their ultimate Australian Staycation.
We can’t wait to take you on the journey of bringing their vision board to life as we build their dream home from the ground up.
look who ELSE HAS Been busy ‘boarding’
Module One of Reno School thrusts our students straight into the basics of vision boarding. We teach them how to collect and cull inspiration, define the feel of their dream home and create their all-important hashtag.
“I honestly think of everything I learnt, the absolute pivotal piece of knowledge was the vision boards. How to create them and use them to guide your build. The number of times you get confused over a design decision and I can hear the Birds in my head saying “go back to your vision board” really helped with that focus and clarity. I really love the way they teach you how to create these and use them and even share their own, and I still adore my original vision board (made about three years ago) to this day.”
