Doors and windows have a HUGE impact on the interior of your home but I’m afraid to say they’re often an afterthought for many renovators who get distracted by more glamorous decisions involving their kitchens, flooring and furniture. But long after those items have fallen out of fashion, your windows and doors will endure.Read More

If you’re anything like us, drooling over home inspo pics is a favourite pastime #pinningforlife. But if a renovation isn’t on the cards at the moment, sometimes you need a little project to get your creative juices flowing and spruce things up around your home in the meantime. We’re often asked for our best reno hacks, so here are a couple of really easy peasy lemon squeezy ones that you can finish in one weekend.Read More
Imagine a kitchen which is the complete opposite of Bonnie's kitchen? What would it look like? Small, black-on-black and with no room for an island bench perhaps? BINGO! That's exactly the kitchen we built at The River Shack reno. Despite it's small size, we used every trick in the book to make it as functional as possible and packed with personality. We wanted this kitchen to have a sleek and modern look, so stained the timber veneer cabinets black and teamed it with Vanilla Noir Caesarstone. And our favourite element of the whole kitchen is not what you'd expect - a piece of artwork which is as an eclectic combo of masculine and feminine energy topped off with a strong dose of cabin fever. A car burn-out never looked so pretty. #grittyprettyRead More
Wanna know a magic trick that will totally transform your home on a budget? I can’t promise you’ll be pulling a white rabbit out of a hat, but definitely a white house. Or a grey one, or black… #heypresto #takeyourpickRead More
Bonnie’s dream home is in the bushy Hills District of Sydney and while this means a gorgeous leafy setting, it also means a few extra building challenges. As if building a forever home of mammoth scale isn’t enough of a task, part of Bonnie’s site is a BAL 40 rated bush fire zone. And with that comes a long list of extra boxes to tick to satisfy council requirements.Read More
But wait, there’s more! We love that you’re such an inquisitive bunch, the questions keep on rolling in, so here I go again…Read More
We've had a lot of you ask about the vintage, concrete trough featured in Bon's colourful laundry. It brings a unique, retro vibe and is also really practical for all that muddy sports gear. But the real reason Bon chose it for her Dream Home was that it has huge sentimental value. You see, we salvaged it from House 5 and that reno holds a very special place in our hearts, especially Bonnie's - watch Episode 2 to learn of the heartbreaking story behind this house.Read More
Artwork is such a personal choice. What floats one person’s boat isn’t always the next person’s cup of tea #whitewithoneplease. That said, I for one, love Bon’s choices of artwork in her dream home. True to her eclectic style she’s chosen different artists and a range styles but what they’ve got in common is that they all look amazing on those big white walls #bonniesdreamgallery #moveoverMOMARead More

OK gang, if you thought you saw a lot of tiles in Bonnie's bathroom reveals... be prepared to be blown away this week. There's a tile party going on... and you're all invited!
Watch Bon do away with any 'rules' of how many shapes, sizes, colours and patterns of tiles you can use in one room. She's thrown caution to the wind and gone a little cray cray in her powder room and laundry. How many tiles is too many? #youbethejudgeRead More
We know how you guys love a chat! So much so that sometimes we’re totally bombarded with questions on social media. We promise we try to answer but it’s not always easy to explain the juicy details when typing with fat fingers in a teeny insta comment.
So, we asked you what you wanted to know, and these were some of the questions that kept coming up….Read More
The main living room is always going to be the most used room in our house. It’s a gorgeous open space, surrounded by so much natural light. Yeah, so much that my Mum insists on wearing her sunglasses while she relaxes on the lounge.
I wanted this room to be totally casual and inviting, but totally chic. Think relaxed but luxe… that’s a thing, right? Let’s call it ‘re-luxe’… sounds a bit like reflux. Urgh, no. But you get what I mean! This room needs to be comfy enough to relax in but durable enough for boys of all sizes to throw themselves on the lounge, put their feet up and relax while we watch a movie.Read More
My family and I pretty much live to entertain. We can think of nothing better than filling our new dream home with family and friends - eating, drinking, chatting #makingmemories. And what better place to do it than in the ultimate outdoor entertaining area!Read More
Oh là là! I could rave about French doors for days. I’m a massive fan and stick in them in everywhere I can. They’re a lovely design feature and look trés chic in almost any style of home. #sofrenchrightnow
French doors, by definition, are ““double doors with glass panes throughout their length” #thanksgoogle. Those gorgeous ones that you can push open together to maximise the double doorway width, or keep one closed to control the amount of breeze coming in. The glass panes filter light into the area, unlike traditional wooden panel doors. Not only do they look amazing, they’ve got far more to offer than just being easy on the eye.Read More
Yep, you’d be right in thinking us Birds have a soft spot for gas-strut windows. We’ve used them in all-but-one of our houses and just can’t get enough of them.
Why? These babies really are the bee’s knees. With a single nudge, they pop upwards and outwards as if motorised. When you’re ready to shut the window, I’ll admit, you have to use a little more effort but hey it’s a great work-out for your arms and in the words of Ice-T #putyourbackintoit.
So let me say again, we lurve a gas-strut window and think that you probably need one in your life too!Read More
Ok gang, if you're looking for some door inspo #whoisnt, Episode Four is for you. It's a total French-door-athon! Bon has loved French doors since our very first reno and has put them in almost every Three Birds renovation since .... so when it came to her Dream Home she really unleashed the beast but this time, with a twist.Read More
