A MASTERFUL MASTER BEDROOM THAT YOU CAN COPY

This week we’re upstairs, sprinkling some magic to turn the boring master bedroom into a super-spesh boudoir for these busy parents. We couldn’t change the size of the room, so instead we went to town with a cosmetic makeover.

I think you’re going to love it because it’s an easy project that you can replicate in your own home, even if a big reno isn’t on the cards #copycatswelcome

Panelled to perfection

Adding Intrim panelling to the existing Gyprock walls always ups the ante from bland bedroom to beautiful boudoir. These moulded panels from Interim are easy to add to existing walls and add an air of glamour and sophistication. Painted our fave, fresh Dulux White on White, don’t you think they look the fox’s socks?

Ditch the dirty carpet

Updating your carpet can do wonders for freshening up a room. Godfrey Hirst eco + Soft Embrace is the next generation in carpet with new levels of stain, soil, wear and colourfast performance plus luxurious softness that your toes will adore. We threw practicality out the window and chose the White Lotus colour in this low-traffic, kid-free zone. It pale and plush and just lovely.

Built in bench seat

If anyone’s looking for bench seats, we hoarded them all in this house! Sorry. But you can’t have them back! The entry, the kitchen and now the master bedroom all feature built-in benches, because they’re so damn handy. Corners can be a waste of space in a bedroom so a bench seat is a great way to utilise every inch, or, let’s be honest, to throw your clothes ‘til you’ve got time to put them away.

This one joins on to a built-in a custom makeup table, because what girl hasn’t always wanted one of those in their bedroom. #fancypants

Whimsical wardrobe

Whacking out walls wasn’t possible with this floorplan so the next best thing was to widen the doorway to the existing robe. This gives the impression of a bigger space and also let’s in more light. The lush linen curtain from Draperly does the same trick as solid wardrobe doors, but at a fraction of the price with a soft, whimsy look.

Stunning Styling

Bon chose crisp whites and blissful blues set the peaceful tone for this master bedroom. The headboard is covered in stunning Florence Broadhurst material which complements all the pillows and cushions, karate chopped to perfection. We all know that Ecoya candles are some of Bon’s favourite styling items so it’s no surprise she’s popped the White Musk & Vanilla in here to set the mood.

Jooshed up with some other pretty pieces of coral, books and that stunning wall sconce, I think these lucky ducks are going to love escaping their mad house for some R&R up here.

So, tell us, what would you steal for your master bedroom?
